How to Create Notifications to Communicate to Your Parkers (OpsMan Web)

Modified on Wed, 18 Jan 2023 at 12:56 PM

Overview

The notification feature allows you to communicate to your parkers through the parking app. The notifications do not prevent your parker from starting a parking session, but restrictions do.

Here are some examples of when you may want to use a notification:

  • Inform your parkers that the zone will be closed the following week for construction
  • Notify parkers of a future event that will affect the parking rates
  • Warn your parkers not to back into the space (for zones using LPR)
  • Event rate for today only: $10 flat rate

Instructions

  1. In OpsMan, navigate to the Setup > Notifications Setup tab.
  2. Select the Create New Notification button.
  3. Complete the following fields:
    • Notification Name. The internal name for this notification. Your parkers will not see this text.
      • Example: Construction
    • Title. The external name for this notification. This is displayed as the title when the notification is shown to the end user.
      • Example: Zone closed 11/12/18 – 11/16/18
    • Message. The message displayed in the notification and presented to the end user.
      • Example: This zone will be closed for construction from Monday, 11/12/18 to Friday, 11/16/18. Please park in other available zones during this time.
    • Select Type. Persistent or One Time.
      • Persistent. Will notify the parker each time a parking session is generated within the specified date range (one time or recurring time slots).
        • Example: If the notification is set for Monday – Friday and the parker starts a parking session each day of the week, he/she will receive the notification each day through Friday.
      • One Time: Will notify the parker only the first time a parking session is generated within the specified date range (one time or recurring time slots).
        • Example: If the notification is set for Monday – Friday and the parker starts a parking session Monday as well as Tuesday, he/she will only see the notification during the first session on Monday.
    • One Time Slots. Active for a specific date range.
      • Note: When you create a new Notification, you need to select Save once to display the time slots section.
    • Recurring Slots. Active on a recurring schedule.
      • Example: weekly from Sunday – Tuesday.
    • Choose to apply to Zones or Spaces.
      • Zones. Select one or multiple zones and drag over using the right arrow from the Available zones to Active zones in order to apply this notification to certain zone(s).
        • Note: do NOT apply to both zones and spaces or it will not work. You must select one. If you’d like to apply to a full zone, drag the zone over. If you’d like to apply it to a few spaces, select the zone in the drop down within the Spaces section and pull over the spaces.
      • Spaces. Select one or multiple spaces and drag over using the right arrow from the Available spaces to Active spaces in order to apply this notification to certain space(s).
        • Note: do NOT apply to both zones and spaces or it will not work. You must select one. If you’d like to apply to a full zone, drag the zone over. If you’d like to apply it to a few spaces, select the zone in the drop down within the Spaces section and pull over the spaces.
