Overview
SpotBlock provides two ways for you to prevent customers from reserving spaces on specific days: Blocked Dates and Restricted Dates.
In either case, customers would be unable to create a new reservation if it coincides with either the restriction’s Start Date or End Date.
Note: A reservation could include dates within the blocked period. In that case, the customer would not be charged for the blocked or restricted date(s).
Example
You block the dates January 4 - January 7.
- Customers would not be able to make a reservation for January 4 - January 6.
- Customers would be able to make a reservation for January 2 - January 6.
Blocked Dates
Use Blocked Dates when you want the date restrictions to apply only to one entity (i.e., space) in your operation.
Blocked Dates are configured on the entity’s details page and only affect a single location.
Instructions
- Select SpotBlock > Manage Inventory
- Enter search criteria in the Search Meter / Space ID field
- Select the desired item
- Select Add Blocked Date
- Enter Start Date and End Date
- Enter Note
- Note: This note will be visible to people in your operation as well as any customer who attempts to reserve a space during the blocked period.
- Select Add
Restricted Dates
Unlike Blocked Dates, Restricted Dates apply to all inventory in all entities (i.e., spaces).
Note: Restricted Dates are limited to a single date rather than a range of dates.
Instructions
- Select SpotBlock > Settings > Restricted Dates
- Select Add Date
- Enter Date and Description
- Select Add
