  1. Use the Transaction Date filter to specify the desired date range.
  2. Ensure all necessary Transaction Types are selected in the filter.

  5. To reset filters, click the ellipsis (•••) next to the results set and select Reset Filter before applying new criteria.

What is the transaction type “Verification” for?

  • A Verification transaction occurs when a customer attempts to add a new payment method to their Parking App.
  • The payment platform checks with the card network and issuing bank to confirm the card is valid.
  • If approved, the card is usable; if declined, the attempt is unsuccessful.
  • This transaction type can help estimate the number of Saved Card attempts.

How can I find all Sale attempts that were declined?

  1. Use the Transaction Date filter to specify the date range.
  2. Select Sale as the Transaction Type.
  3. Under Approval Status, choose Declined.
  4. Click Run Report and review the results.
  5. Adjust filters as needed and rerun the report.
  6. To start over, reset filters by clicking the ellipsis (•••) next to the results set and selecting Reset Filter.

How can I find all transactions for a specific card type?

  1. Use the Transaction Date filter to specify the date range.

How do I find a specific transaction activity or stage for an order?

  1. Use the Transaction Date filter to specify the date range.
  2. Select the relevant Transaction Types.
  3. Use the Product ID filter and enter the Transaction ID. (You can find this ID using product lookups or the “Payment Settlement Summary” report.)
  4. Alternatively, use the Order ID to view all transaction stages of a payment. (Copy-paste is supported in the filter.)
  5. Click Run Report and review the results.
  6. Adjust filters as needed and rerun the report.
  7. Reset filters if necessary using the ellipsis (•••) > Reset Filter option.

Report Vocabulary

  • Stage: Part of the full transaction life cycle of an order
  • Transaction Time: Specific date and time the activity or stage of the order took place
  • Transaction ID: A unique value generated by the gateway used to identify a specific activity or stage of an Order, also referred to as the request number in other systems
  • Transaction Reference Number: The passport point solution generated reference number that is passed to the gateway and processor and can be used to help with reconciliation between systems
  • Amount: Total value of the captured payment amount
  • Card Tail: Last 4 digits of the card holder’s card number
  • Approval Status: Indicates the outcome of a transaction (approved, declined or error) 
    • Approved: The transaction has been successfully authorized, and the payment can proceed
    • Declined: The transaction was not authorized, typically due to insufficient funds, incorrect details, or restrictions from the card issuer or payment provider
    • Error:The transaction could not be completed due to a technical issue, such as network failures, invalid data, or system malfunctions
  • Transaction Type: Defines the activity or stage of the Order the record is referring to
    • Authorization: The first stage of a transaction that reserves funds on a customer’s payment method but does not settle the payment
    • Void: Canceling an authorized transaction before it is settled prevents funds from being captured
    • Capture: The process of finalizing an authorized transaction to transfer the reserved funds to the merchant
    • Sale: A customer initiates a payment, authorizing the transaction and capturing the funds simultaneously
    • Refund: A transaction that returns funds from a merchant to a customer for a previously completed sale
    • Verified: Authentication of a credit or debit card before the transaction takes place (persisting a card to your Passport App payment options)
  • Card Type: Debit or credit card classification based on its issuing network; sometimes referred to as Payment Method

  • Order ID: The unique value used to identify and link all activities and stages associated with a payment transaction
  • Reconciliation ID: Identifier to help facilitate the process of matching and verifying records between systems such as (gateway or processor). 
  • Reference 1: The Passport-generated Product Transaction ID passed to the gateway and processor during the order process. 
  • Reference 2: Network Transaction ID, passed back to Passport by Gateway
  • Reference 3: Approval code, a unique code provided by the payment processor or issuing bank that confirms a transaction has been authorized. 
  • Payment Type: Origination of point of the secure, digital replacement for the actual credit card number used during transactions.
    • Payment Token: Passport-generated token leveraging our token vault
    • Network Token: Non-Passport originated token commonly seen with Apple and Google payment methods
  • Account Name: Custom name created by the payment system that helps quickly identify which product and operator the transaction is linked to
  • Payment Originator: Entity or party that initiates a payment transaction
    • Apple: Apple Pay transaction
    • Google: Google Pay transaction
    • Passport: Transaction originated from a point-solution
