Changes to Fee Management (effective after February 21, 2024)

Modified on Wed, 21 Feb at 4:19 PM

Overview

After February 21, 2024, your customers whose receipts use our standard (non-custom) permit receipt template will notice changes in their receipt, and you will notice a difference in the way fees are named.

Customer Receipt Changes

Your customers whose receipts use our standard permit receipt template will see a different receipt format. Custom receipts will not change.

Key changes for standard receipts include:

  • Complete layout redesign
  • New order details section (includes Transaction #, Order Date, Payment Method, and Paid By)
  • New permit details section (now includes Link Code and Vehicle Details information for each permit)
  • Clear breakdown of taxes and fees

Portal Experience Changes

In order to bring Passport’s Permit product into better compliance with card networks, after February 21, 2024, any Passport-related fee will be displayed as a service fee. Your total fees will not change.

You will also notice the following changes:

  • You can now charge one or more tax rates
  • Taxes and service fees will be displayed in the quote, cart, checkout, and receipts (where applicable)
  • Service fees will be excluded from refunds
    • For example: If the total cost was $100 and had $5 in service fees, the maximum refund would be $95.
    • Contact Finance or your CS Rep to discuss additional refunds.
